Hour of Code 2016 with my kids

Hour of Code 2016

Just did an "HourofCode" with my kids. They love it and are very happy they got an certificate too.

All that's needed is a laptop and internet.
They had fun, challenges and certainly developed some skills. An advantage with multiple kids working side by side, is that they talk with each other about their progress, challenges and also support each other.


Another cool thing about these programs is that they also have videos with tips and instructions in between. Certain speeches also motivate them to continue.

Although the programs are setup to make it almost possible for any kid to participate on their own, it still requires some guidance.

The programs are very interactive and provide instant results to the kids. Because its visual, they can see the results or mistakes of their actions(code) and retry unlimited number of times.

By participating, kids learn a lot and might also get inspired to become engineers.
