A lesson is a very serious an tough job. It requires a lot of responsibility from the teacher, who has to make sure that all different students learn something.
Therefore it needs careful planning, which forces us to think about what we want or must achieve with the students.
If the goals are set, the teacher must also think of how to meet the goals, what is required and must be done in a given period.
It's also important to measure if the goals are met.
