ICT in Education C1-Y2 progress

Year 2 of ICT in Education was another excellent year. We did some observations in classes and other great activities with students.

Observations

As part of the course we went to other schools to do observations. We were checking for how lessons were prepared and taught, if technology was used and how it could be enhanced.

I was a great experience to be back in class and get a glimpse of how it could be later as a teacher. With all the things we'learned during the two years, it was obvious that education can really be improved.

Practice..

Practicing is really important to gain some experiences, especially for a non-teacher like me. For some reasons practicing on a school did not work wel and I decided to practice at IOL with my own kids and other peers.

I created a lessonplan for a topic in "Science and Technology" that is not taught in school yet, but meets Surinames Curriculum.

I had applied what I had learned so far and it was a great experience. The kids loved it and my peers were impressed.

Streaming..

The BE-STREAMING activities are the ones I liked the most in this year. As a technical person, I believe I have found what I like and would like to continue as a teacher.

After this second year, I believe that this course is the beste to ever happen in Suriname and the we can really make huge changes in educations. I have also learned that technical people (like me) even if their outside of the school systeem are needed to make change, or inspire students.
